Attica, including the Greek capital city Athens, is situated on a peninsula at the tip of mainland Greece stretching southeastward into the Aegean Sea. Central Greece lies to the west of Attica extending along the gulfs of Corinth and Patrai.

Athens is the cradle of Western civilization and democracy, and evidence of its history can still be found in the modern city.  The most famous monument to classical Athens is the Parthenon on the ancient Acropolis.

Central Greece is one of the most mountainous regions of Greece.  This rugged landscape throughout its history was a welcome refuge for bandits, freedom fighters and adventurers.  Its coastal regions became important for the Romans, Venetians and Turks. One of the most visited places in the ancient Greek world and today is the Temple of Apollo in Delphi at the foot of Mt. Parnassus.

Athens is situated in the prefecture of Attica and extends to the peninsula that reaches up to Central Greece. It is surrounded by mountains Ymytos, Pendeli and Parnitha, to the north and east, and the Saronic gulf south and west. The climate is one of mild winters and very hot summers, ideal for tourism. The major port is the port of Piraeus the central commercial port of the capital.
In 1834 Athens was chosen to be the capital of the newly established Greek State. The city that now hosts more than 4,5 million people. Today it is the political, social, cultural, financial and commercial center of Greece.

Athens is a city of complexity and contrast A walk around the old neighborhoods, reveal the coexistence of different eras. Where the old meet the new, some Old mansions are very well-preserved, and others worn down by time. Athens shopping is one of the best in Europe with Luxurious department stores and small intimate shops, fancy restaurants and traditional taverns all have their place in this city.

In the center of Athens you will find Syntagma Square( Constitution Square) were the  Parliament and most of the Ministries are, the neighborhoods of Monastiraki, Kolonaki and Lycavitos Hill, are a short walk from here and are visited by millions of people every year. To the southwest  you will find the fame beaches of Faliro, Glyfada, Voula and Vouliagmeni. Or you can head up north and enjoy the fresh air at the more classy neighborhoods of Marousi, Melissia, Vrilissia and of course Kifisia.
